Shift Supervisor
SHIFT SUPERVISOR
within Brooklyn: Cornelia
As the Shift Supervisor, you will:
*Supervise and instruct Program Specialists.
*Follows union contract relative to Program Specialists.
*Ensure coverage of a shift when a Program Specialist is absent.
*Ensure that each consumer is well-groomed and neat in appearance at all times, inside and outside of the residence.
*Ensure appropriate follow-up to medication administration during shifts, and after client medical appointments.
*Channel approved information to Program Specialists.
*Monitor Program Specialists' time sheets.
*Assess and monitor staff productivity.
*Provide supervisory counseling and discipline to Program Specialists, as necessary.
*Serve as a functioning member of the staff, meeting the needs of the consumers.
*Oversee functioning of the facility during the absence of the Program Manager and Assistant Program Manager.
*Manage client and agency funds and expenditures including petty cash and money for consumers, clothing and recreation.
*Ensure safety, maintenance and cleanliness of the residence and agency vehicles.
*Identify facility needs, and communicate to relevant staff.
*Respond to emergencies, when needed, outside of working hours.
*Ensure fire drill completion.
*Participate in staff meetings, supervisors' workshops, interdisciplinary team (IDT) and committee meetings.
*Carry out policies and procedures of SUS, in accordance with OMRDD and other funding sources.
*Communicate among community, family and agency contacts.
*Document all events, during each shift, in the supervisor's log book.
*Reports all incidents, ensuring consistent adherence to OMRDD and agency policies.
*Assign Program Specialists and consumers, on each shift.
*Meet with Assistant Program Manager on a regular basis to discuss pertinent issues.
Requirements:
*Previous supervisory experience
*Minimum High School diploma/GED and Computer Proficiency
*Minimum 1 year of experience in MR/DD or related field
*Training in AMAP, SCIP-R, and First Aid/CPR
*Valid Driver’s License (driving history is subject to safety assessment and insurance approval)
