Among your responsibilities, you will:
§         Collect and dispose of garbage from all offices and common areas on a daily basis
§         Strip and wax all floors on a quarterly basis
§         Submit requisitions for necessary maintenance/repair supplies to the Program Director on a weekly basis and control the inventory of supplies
§         Complete the monthly physical plant and fire safety audit of the facility
§         Establish and execute a formalized preventative maintenance schedule for the facility, i.e. painting, plastering, plumbing, changing locks, changing lighting fixtures, stripping and waxing floors, installing shades, etc.
§         Ensure the overall cleanliness of the facility
§         Supervise the installation of facility furniture and appliances
§         Participate in moving clients in and out of the facility
§         Maintain vehicle maintenance/mileage record prior to and upon returning from trips
§         Drive consumers to outside appointments
§         Regular attendance in staff meetings and trainings
§         Teach and assist residents on how to clean their personal space and to complete their assigned Adult Daily Living (ADL) tasks
§         Provide accurate, complete and timely documentation of Adult Daily Living training (ADL) in group notes
 

 
Preferred skills:
  • Minimum one year experience as a repair-person
  • Minimum one year experience working with mentally ill individuals within a residential or scatter-site program
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Some jobs may require a validate NYS driver’s license
  • Computer experience a plus not required
