Assistant Program Manager
ASSISTANT PROGRAM MANAGER
within Queens locations: Crescent
You will assist the Program Manager with:

Ensuring that client needs are met.
-
Effective day-to-day operation of the facility.
Among your responsibilities, you will:
-
Direct and motivate Shift Supervisors.
-
Prepare staff schedules for Supervisors and Program Specialists - including responsibility for vacation, personal, and sick time while maintaining coverage during emergency periods of staff shortages.
-
Ensure appropriate staffing pattern.
-
Conduct meetings, with supervisors and staff, to discuss programmatic and staffing issues.
-
Evaluate individual work performance of all supervisors.
-
Assist Program Manager in devising and executing relevant agency/program policy, in accordance with OMRDD and/or other funding agency guidelines.

Conduct - and report to Program manager on - frequent rounds on all shifts, to ensure that safety and health requirements are observed, that the physical environment is comfortable and stimulating, and that quality consumer care and programming are provided.

Review all data collection.

Ensure coordination by supervisors of all transportation activities to assure maximum use of transportation services for day programming, recreation services, medical, and special requirements.

Conduct interviews of potential Supervisors and Direct Care staff.

Ensure timely receipt and ongoing availability of all consumers' personal needs.

Assign Supervisor and Program Specialists to participate in all consumer ITT reviews.
-
Attend Day Program consumer meetings.

Prepare Day Program progress reports at ITT reviews.

Distribute petty cash funds to the Supervisor, and collects petty cash receipts and submits them to the Program Manager.

Conduct monthly fire evacuation drills including all staff members on all shifts.
-
Participate in admission and discharge reviews.
-
Attend and participate in meetings, conferences, ITTs and training sessions as assigned or scheduled.

Serve as liaison to the Incident Review Committee.

Develop monthly recreation schedule in consultations with Recreation Coordinator.
-
Implements and monitor in-house and community recreational activities.
-
Ensure data collection on - and updates of - recreation activity sheets.
-
Update recreation activity sheets on the first of every month.
-
Ensure the proper maintenance of recreational supplies.
-
Plan activities for special events.

You need to have:

Demonstrated supervisory experience in MR/DD or related field.

Demonstrated experience and knowledge of OMRDD audit protocols.
-
High School diploma/GED. College Degree preferred.
-
Training in AMAP, SCIP-R, and First Aid/CPR.
-
Valid Driver’s License preferred.
